Ukrainian drones attacked the Kirishi oil refinery in the Leningrad region of the Russian Federation on the night of September 14. This was reported by the commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Robert “Madyar” Brovdi on his Telegram channel .
He noted that the Kirishi Oil Refinery is one of the top five Russian enterprises in terms of production of high-octane gasoline and other types of fuel. According to Madyar, about 20 million tons of oil are processed there annually.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces’ Unmanned Systems Forces added that the strike was carried out by the SBS together with units of the Special Operations Forces. The Kirishi Oil Refinery is located more than 800 km from the state border of Ukraine.
“Kirishinefteorgsintez is the main supplier of petroleum products for St. Petersburg, Leningrad, Novgorod and Pskov regions. Its refining capacity exceeds 20 million tons of oil per year, which makes this enterprise the second largest refinery in the country after the Omsk plant,” the statement says.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces’ Unmanned Systems Forces shared that this enterprise produces about 80 types of petroleum products. This refinery is also directly involved in providing the Russian army with petroleum products.Read also:

Impact on the Kirishi Oil Refinery – what is known
Let us recall that on the night of September 14, a strike was carried out on the Kirishi Oil Refinery in the Leningrad Region of the Russian Federation. The enterprise was attacked by drones.
The Leningrad Region authorities confirmed the attack. According to the region’s governor, Alexander Drozdenko, three drones were shot down near the city of Kirishi.
A fire broke out on the territory of the oil refinery. Drozdenko stated that the cause was the fall of UAV debris.
