Rosneft’s Novokuibyshevsk oil refinery was reportedly targeted in an overnight drone attack on Russia’s Samara Oblast, according to reports by residents and local officials early on June 27.
Regional Governor Vyacheslav Fedorishchev claimed that the drones “attempted” to attack an industrial facility. No one was injured. Emergency services are at the site of the strike.
The refinery has an annual production capacity of 8.8 million tons of oil.
Earlier, the Russian Federal Aviation Authority imposed temporary flight restrictions at the International Airport Kurumoch.
Russia’s Defense Ministry claimed that 39 drones had been “destroyed” overnight, primarily over Rostov and Volgograd oblasts.
The refinery was previously attacked by drones on March 10.
