Dozens of Russians advanced on Vuhledar on motorcycles: the Armed Forces blew up about 20 “bikers” (photo)

Sometimes motorcycle attacks turn into bloody massacres for the Russians.

Struggling to acquire enough new armored vehicles to replace the roughly 16,000 vehicles lost in Ukraine, the Russian military this spring got desperate and began equipping assault units with inexpensive off-road motorcycles, Forbes writes .

The theory is that soldiers on fast off-road motorcycles can outrun the thousands of tiny Ukrainian drones that swarm over the 700-mile front line every day.

“Sometimes it works. While the Russian offensive in the north, which began on May 9, quickly stalled in the town of Vovchansk, located a few miles south of the Russian-Ukrainian border, Russian forces of about 500,000 in Ukraine managed to advance several miles in several sectors in recent weeks,” the analysts wrote.

They point out that usually attacks on motorcycles don’t work.

“And sometimes attacks on bicycles turn into bloody massacres for Russians. On June 28, a large group of assault bikers, apparently dozens, attacked the 72nd mechanized brigade of the Ukrainian army in Vuhledar in the south of Ukraine,” the article reads.

According to the Russian “military commander” Sladkov, the goal was to bypass the Ukrainian position and cut it off.

“There is brewing a blow to the Ukrainians in the back, or rather from the rear,” he wrote before the attack.

But the Ukrainians attacked the Russian convoy, which also included T-80 tanks and other armored vehicles, with the help of drones and, apparently, missiles and artillery. Buried mines may have added to the destruction.

“When the smoke cleared, Russian troops lay in ruins. The 72nd Mechanized Brigade claimed to have knocked out 16 tanks, 34 combat vehicles and 19 motorcycles, as well as killed or seriously wounded more than 800 Russian servicemen,” experts note.

The Russian command “deliberately threw manpower under the Ukrainian death harvester, having no chance of survival,” reported Ukrainian military correspondent Yuriy Butusov.

“Unfortunately for the Russians, the Vuhledar motorcycle assault was not the only failed such attack in late June or early July. On Monday, analyst Andrew Perpetua counted 25 Russian motorcycles destroyed in recent fighting,” they added.

  1. And the orcs continue to take commands from their commanders? Indeed not only are the orcs without any moral virtues, they’re absolutely short of any brains. I don’t think there is a word that can possibly describe the new heights of moronic, stupid and idiotic behavior the orcs are demonstrating. But that said, let them die as much as they want.
