PALM BEACH – Former American President Donald Trump has asked top oil industry executives for $1 billion in campaign donations. After taking office, he promised to scrap environmental regulations imposed under current President Joe Biden, reports The Washington Post newspaper. It is based on anonymous sources.

The newspaper writes that the meeting took place last month at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate. There, a top business figure complained about unwelcome environmental regulations. It is said that $400 million was spent on lobbying last year alone, but that would not have had sufficient results.
Trump is said to have then told his guests that it would be a bargain if they put a billion on the table to ensure that he is elected president again. He said that the companies are rich enough for that and explained that this way they can avoid taxes and burdensome regulations. The former president also promised that he would grant more permits to drill for oil in the Gulf of Mexico, the newspaper writes.
Several dozen directors were invited to the meeting. According to The Washington Post, these include representatives of companies such as Venture Global, Cheniere Energy, Chevron, Exxon and Occidental Petroleum.

That’s not new Sir Bill, the Left has always hated energy production and that’s why we have all the “climate change” mandates, regulations and EV subsidies that cost billions of dollars every year. They would prefer we ride bikes or drive Chinese cars instead of having free choices and cheap energy.
The regulations exist so that we can still have drinkable water, air to breathe, and hold companies accountable for negligent actions. As for EV subsidies, it’s not all it looks to be in paper and really EV pollutes in it’s own way by manufacturing process, disposal not to mention the spontaneous combustion. Maybe they will come up with something better but currently looks to be a list cause. As to your ” left has always hated energy production” , we all need different forms of usable energy to live life with convenience as well as being responsible.
What I didn’t manage to include is there are other ways to produce energy. I agree that what is being thrown into some programs is wasteful with little to show as result. But look at some of the things Ukraine ,is/was doing with geothermal, better solar farms and collectors, as well as better ways of harvesting wind and wave energy.
But as for vehicles we are pretty hooked on oil and gas and the infrastructure is not there to support otherwise.
If Trump becomes President again, he’ll blackmail them for more. So, those corporations should rather support Biden, who’s a safer bet. He’s an old school crooked politician who wants to avoid public protests because of a shortage of gas. That’s good enough for business. 🤨

Biden was acting as an agent of President Obama, and the USA, the IMF, and other countries wanted Shokin to go because he failed to do investigations of corruption and economic crimes of President Yanukovych and his close associates.
Without pressure from Joe Biden, European diplomats, the International Monetary Fund and other international organizations, Shokin would not have been fired, said Daria Kaleniuk, co-founder and executive director of the Anti Corruption Action Centre in Kiev.

This is a news article that’s not news at all. Drilling for oil and energy independence have been Trump policies forever. Of course the petroleum industry should support Trump as his policies are beneficial to their industry. Money donated to a political candidate because of mutually shared political views is not a bribe.

Apparently, the wall was never supposed to be a serious thing. Trump’s advisors wanted him to focus on immigration, but they had a candidate who wasn’t too bright, wouldn’t read from a teleprompter, and couldn’t stay focused on anything.
