Do we learn from history?

Russia invaded Finland on 30 November 1939. Stalin demanded that Finland cede substantial border territories as it was threat to Russian security. He wanted to conquer all of Finland, and establish a puppet Finnish Communist government.

Comment from Dmitry Karpenko: “Moskovia, Russian Empire, USSR, Russia – same lineage, same kind of leadership, same imperialist and chauvinistic culture. The name changes were deliberate btw – to keep doing the same thing, pretending you’re different now.
They know people don’t read much beyond the headlines. That’s why the renamed their Russian Orthodox Church in Ukraine into UKRAINIAN Orthodox Church several month ago and got some juicy headlines like “Ukraine bans Ukrainian church”. The actual Ukrainian church is called “Orthodox Church of Ukraine”. Hope it wasn’t deliberate.”

Comment from Peter Veal: “Well Galyna one thing we could have learnt was the ineptitude of the Russian Army in its attack on poor Finland. Though Finland had to concede territory to russia to end the war, russia performed appallingly. It also suffered huge casualties significantly higher then Finland. And the rest of Europe basically failed to support Finland. The result may have been different. Russia performed so badly it inspired Hitler’s latter attack on Russia. Another historical lesson that suggests russia’s failure in Ukraine will make other bullies think twice!Russia attacked Japan in 1904. Japan kicked their ar*e! Largely because the then might of Britain backed Japan. What happens when Countries of good will, support each other. So yes lots we could learn from this history! Great Post Galyna!”

  1. The result of that war was that Finland was forced to sign away 9% of its territory to fucking Russia.
That cannot be allowed to happen again.
    Wiki:
“Finnish President Kyösti Kallio resisted the idea of giving up any territory to the Soviet Union, but was forced to agree to sign the Moscow Peace Treaty. When he signed the document, the tormented president uttered the well-known words:
Let the hand wither that signs this monstrous treaty!”

  2. Did we learn from history? Some people, no! It is especially certain public figures who should take history much more seriously, but are blissfully ignoring it, and are foolishly repeating the mistakes from the past. Such ignorant monkeys should never be voted into any public office.
