The head of the European Commission said that a special expert group had already been created on this issue.

The European Union aims not to freeze, but to confiscate Russian assets in Europe.
This was stated by the head of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen at the conference of international aid donors for Ukraine in Berlin.
“Of course, our goal is not to freeze as much as to confiscate assets, this is our task. However, it is not so easy from a legal point of view. We defend the rule of law, but this means that we must adhere to the rule of law, so we have a lot of work to create impeccable legal grounds for this process,” she said.
The head of the European Commission added that a special expert group had been created on this issue.
“Its goal is not only to determine where and what is frozen, but also to understand what are the legal prerequisites that can be used to confiscate funds and send them to restore Ukraine,” she said.
