My review of the hearing in two paragraphs:
If optics are based on presentation, brilliant posturing, carefully rehearsed evasive answers and diversion, then DNI nominee Lt. Col. Tulsi Gabbard gets high marks for her carefully scripted performance in today’s nomination hearing before the Senate Intelligence Committee.
If the evaluation is based on substantive issues of American intelligence and national security, her record revealed perspectives adverse to the American interest and an extraordinary lack of judgment, through her past statements and actions on defining fundamentals of American national security on issues ranging from Edward Snowden, Section 702, Assad and Russia.

There is an exchange between Sen. Michael Bennett and Gabbard at the 1hr 38 min point that is very revealing as to where Gabbard’s loyalties are.
Senator Michael Bennett sounds like a Reagan Republican, although actually he’s a Democrat.
On the other hand, tovarisch Gabbardova sounds exactly like what she is : an evil kremlin propagandist/far left Bernie Sanders shill turned far right putler shill, whom the current administration sees as a fit person to head up US intelligence.
You could not make it up.
In President Reagan’s time, each party was made up by various thoughts, liberal or conservative, in both parties, providing a balance in each party. For example Senator Rockefeller of New York was a liberal in the republican party, likewise Senator Nunn, democrat, of Georgia was one of the biggest proponents of US defense, I believe a conservative. I know I sound like an old fart but I miss those days of balance, where moderation was a sought after quality.
The Trump administration is not making America great again, it’s trying to make mafia land great. This is what happens when foolish, idiotic people vote for a draft dodging coward, a liar, and a convicted crook into office.
