Divide and rule! Nazi Russia rejoices: Ukraine is again trying to get rid of its best military leader (column)

The top topic of recent days is the very possible resignation of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Valery Zaluzhny. What initially seemed like just another piece of information intended to test the public’s mood seems to be about to become a sad reality. To say that the removal of a talented and popular military leader in the midst of a full-scale war will have an extremely negative impact on the mood in society and especially in the military environment is to say nothing.

Correspondents and friends of “Dumskaya” who are related to the army report that in smoking rooms, canteens and barracks there is only talk about the impending withdrawal. Many, many people in the pixel are confused. They perceive this as a stab in the back, as a coup that politicians, or rather one particular politician, are preparing in order to “turn the table” – to prevent the said general from using his popularity to achieve political goals, although he, it seems, has never talked about such a thing thought.

Yes, some at the top of the political Olympus, measuring by themselves, believe that Zaluzhny dreams of the laurels of Napoleon, de Gaulle and Eisenhower… And this someone is also desperately jealous of fame. This politician already seemed to have decided that he was the one and only savior of the nation, but the nation thought differently. How can you not get angry?

In principle, the Armed Forces have already reached such a level that a change in the commander-in-chief is unlikely to have a significant impact on the further development of events: we are already at a positional impasse. The outcome of the confrontation now depends on the economy and external support, and this applies to both Ukraine and Nazi Russia, which is forced to turn to the DPRK for help. The one who will show more endurance, who will have more will to win, will survive. And more resources. All these factors do not depend on the military leadership, alas: political leadership must work here.

Which, alas, is busy urgently solving the problem of one person’s jealousy. Zaluzhny, whom everyone without exception prayed for in the first months of the great war, who literally performed a miracle and stopped what seemed inevitable – our death as a country and a nation – is consistently subjected to media attacks. The odious deputy from the Servant of the People, Bezuglya, was chosen as a “torpedo”, who either ties the commander in chief to the extremely unpopular mobilization bill developed by Zelensky’s supporters, or hints at the moral character of the general. It all looks terrible, to be honest. And frankly weak… And shameful.

But, according to rumors, in the first months of the full-scale war he had complete carte blanche: since even Ermak, who looked into the military office, was sent to a known address – an unprecedented thing! Maybe what is happening now is the most banal revenge? For that fear, for humiliation?

It’s very bad that they will try to promote Zaluzhny’s likely successor (the names of generals Syrsky and Budanov, who so far, according to the surprisingly knowledgeable Western press, are refusing, but the pressure on them from the Office of the President is increasing) will be promoted in the media. We know what PR campaigns can be like in wartime. What awaits us? Some kind of adventure like an attempted landing at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant? Or a new full-scale, but unprepared counteroffensive? And what price will Ukraine pay for this vile policy? How many more soldiers and sailors will die for the sake of the idiotic ambitions of a man who imagines himself to be the main Ukrainian?

Zaluzhny is not a god or even a demigod of war, he is an ordinary person who, by the will of fate and Zelensky himself, ended up in his place at one time. And he fulfills his duty as a military man and citizen with honor.

He is not a politician. And even in the current unpleasant situation he does not behave like a politician. Instead of unsubstantiated statements like “we’ll take Crimea in two months,” he publishes a dry, purely military-theoretical article in which he briefly characterizes the situation, the strategic challenges facing Ukraine, lists our strengths: mobility, information space, drones, and so on. It seems like nothing new, but you need to understand that such theses coming from the commander-in-chief are then degenerated into combat manuals and articles of regulations. It is very important.

Unfortunately, the country’s political leadership is very far from all this. Thinks in his own categories and values. And apparently, they decided to escalate the conflict with the military to the limit.

Well, the Russians have long wanted such a development of events. This is exactly the kind of Ukraine they need, disoriented, divided, conflicted.

It’s easier to win that way. Divide et impera!

  1. I do believe the bad influence leading to this wrongheaded move can be identified with a single name:
    YERMAK
    🙄
