Trump praised Russia’s steps towards resolving the war in Ukraine and noted progress in achieving it.

US President Donald Trump says he “can’t believe I called Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky a dictator.” He made the statement during a meeting with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, the BBC reports .

“Did I say that? I can’t believe I said that,” Trump said when asked if he still considered Zelensky a dictator.

Also, the American president, commenting on his trust in Russian President Vladimir Putin, said “trust, but verify.”

He said his planned mining deal with Zelensky would effectively be an “insurance mechanism” for Ukraine, The Guardian reports .

“President Zelensky is coming to see me on Friday morning. We’re going to sign a really important agreement for both sides because it will give us access to that country and allow us to operate there,” Trump explained.

He also added that this “can be called an insurance mechanism.” Once it is signed, he is ready to discuss the deployment of peacekeeping forces:

“We need an agreement first before we talk about peacekeepers. We haven’t signed it yet.

Trump praised Russia’s steps in resolving the war in Ukraine, noting progress in achieving it. According to him, he does not think Putin will invade Ukraine again if a peace agreement is signed.

Asked whether he thought the Russian president would invade Ukraine again without adequate security guarantees, Trump replied:

“I think that when we make an agreement, it is an agreement.”

The American leader added that ensuring security in Ukraine after reaching an agreement is the easiest part, but the process of reaching agreements itself is the most difficult.

“We will, of course, try to return as much land to Ukraine as possible. But Ukraine will not join NATO,” he added.

The US have had companies in Ukraine for years. Coca Cola have a huge factory not too far from my home in Ukraine. John Deere also had a huge factory in Ukraine. Does anyone ever do any homework in this government?
