Since the beginning of Russia ‘s full-scale aggression in Ukraine, NATO has done practically nothing for the Ukrainian state, taking an ambiguous position.

This opinion was expressed on Channel 24 by the former US permanent representative to NATO, American diplomat Kurt Volker.

Volker emphasized that only certain NATO member countries had pro-Ukrainian initiatives. The diplomat is convinced that a good question is what NATO does for Ukraine in terms of military support and how the organization operates in the issue of granting membership to Ukraine.

“NATO has done almost nothing in relation to Ukraine,” he said.

The diplomat also stressed that the organization has done only an excellent job when it comes to protecting NATO itself. By this he means the deployment of the Alliance military in Poland, Romania and the Baltic countries. Assistance to Ukraine was from specific states, he says.

“There were individual initiatives. The United States, Poland, Great Britain, Canada, the Czech Republic and so on. They supported Ukraine, but NATO as NATO did not,” Volker said.

According to him, NATO must now ask itself one question – is it an institution capable of ensuring security in Europe.

Earlier on Thursday, North Atlantic Treaty Organization Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that NATO member countries are determined to help Ukraine more in the medium and long term.

  1. All anti-Ukraine/pro-putler countries must be kicked out. Until recently that would have included Italy, but recently they seem to be taking a more antagonistic line to the putinazis. Czechia and Bulgaria seem also at last to be supporting Ukraine. That still leaves Orbanistan, France and Germany.

I think that Ukraine will take another long and hard look at its desire to join this club of pussies.
