Destroyers, 100 aircraft and 15,000 troops: US launches large-scale military operation in Strait of Hormuz

US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced the launch of Operation Freedom, which will involve significant military forces, including destroyers, more than 100 aircraft and 15,000 troops, to escort merchant ships through the Strait of Hormuz.

This was reported by CENTCOM on the X network.

“On May 4, US Central Command (CENTCOM) forces will begin supporting Operation Freedom to restore freedom of navigation for merchant shipping through the Strait of Hormuz,” the message says.

The command noted that they are acting on the instructions of US President Donald Trump and will provide escort for vessels passing through one of the key routes of world trade.

“CENTCOM will provide support to merchant vessels seeking to freely pass through this important corridor of international trade,” the department emphasized.

It is noted that the operation will involve guided missile destroyers, land-based and sea-based aircraft, unmanned systems of various types, as well as about 15 thousand military personnel.

Recall that Iranian Islamists have announced that they will establish new rules for shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.

  1. Finally break the mullahs’ neck and sanction the crap out of communist china for producing iranian drones!!!

  2. The lies are already in full swing. The Iranians claim they hit a US destroyer with two missiles. The US claim two ships have passed through the Strait. Neither the Iranians nor the US named the relevant ships.

    • The sad part about this is that none of them are to be trusted with telling the truth. Both parties are glaring, shameless liars.
