Denmark closes Aalborg airport for third time in a week due to unidentified drones over city

On the night of September 26, for the third time in a week, the airspace over Aalborg airport in Denmark was closed for an hour around midnight due to unidentified drones circling over the city. This is reported by Ekstra Bladet.

It is noted that this is the second case of airspace closure over Aalborg airport in a day.

Thus, the head of the North Jutland police, Christian Tilsted, said that the airport was closed due to the threat of drones.

“Everything was closed here at 11:40 pm, and there is a suspicion that people could have seen a drone,” said a police officer on duty.

On Wednesday evening, the airspace was closed for several hours due to unidentified drones flying around the airport. On Thursday evening, drone activity was also observed at a number of Jutland airports, in particular at Billund Airport, which closed the airspace for a short time.

Danish authorities are investigating the case, but so far they have not been able to neutralize the drones, identify them, or point to a possible participant in the so-called “hybrid attack.”

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on September 22, several airports in Norway and Denmark suspended operations due to unidentified drones that flew into the airspace of both countries.

Aalborg Airport in northern Denmark temporarily suspended all flights on the night of September 25 due to drones being spotted in the airspace.
