The demographic crisis in Russia has long been a state secret, despite the authorities’ attempts to restrict access to relevant statistics.

This was reported by the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine, Censor.NET reports .

As noted, the declining birth rate, aging population, and high mortality pose a serious threat to the country. This crisis not only undermines the country’s economic stability, but also pushes the authorities to take radical and controversial measures to solve social problems.

In particular, the State Duma deputies are considering a proposal by “activists” to include unmarried men who do not make attempts to start a family on the so-called “black list” of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and punish them with corrective labor or sending them to war if they do not meet for three months.

In addition, the situation is exacerbated by a failed migration policy. The Russian Federation depends on migrant workers from Central Asia and other regions to eliminate labor shortages. However, it seeks to use them to replenish its military ranks in the war against Ukraine. The lack of an effective integration policy, the growth of xenophobia and discriminatory practices only complicate the problem.

The SZR said that another trend is the involvement of minors in work in the military-industrial complex – children are involved in the production of UAVs used in the war against Ukraine.

“Such practices indicate the degradation of social standards and priorities of a state that resorts to coercion and repression and puts military goals above the well-being of its citizens,” the intelligence service emphasized.
