Deliveries of shells to Ukraine within the framework of the Czech initiative have already begun, however, the exact timing of their delivery is not yet known. Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski spoke about this, Wnp.pl reports .
According to the diplomat, the country “will double its contribution to the Czech initiative to purchase ammunition for Ukraine,” however, he did not answer the question about the size of the Polish contribution, emphasizing that “this is a military secret.”
At the same time, he noted that the Czech ammunition initiative “is very useful”, since it led to the sending to Ukraine of the necessary ammunition purchased from various sources, including non-European ones.e
“The fact that she has already received firm promises of support, backed by cash, and that transportation is already being arranged, means that we feel the burden of responsibility to help Ukraine fight the Russian invasion,” Sikorsky added.
Asked about the scale of the current threat from Russia and the likelihood of an invasion of Poland, Sikorsky pointed to media reports about the country’s activities in Ukraine.
“In Poland, explosions of Russian missiles are heard, which are heading towards Lviv. I think there is no need to explain what this means,” said the head of the Polish Foreign Ministry.
