On the morning of September 25, Ukrainian defenders shot down a Russian occupation army Su-34 fighter-bomber. The invaders used this aircraft to carry out terrorist attacks on the city of Zaporizhia.
The plane was hit at around 4:00 a.m. on September 25. This was reported by the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The enemy suffers losses.
According to the Air Force, a Russian Su-34 aircraft was destroyed in the Zaporizhia direction. It is also noted that this aircraft was carrying out air bomb launches to terrorize civilians in Zaporizhia.
According to monitoring channels, a Russian terrorist plane was destroyed in the area of temporarily occupied Vasylivka. The settlement is located approximately 40 km from Zaporizhia.
Weapons of terror
The Su-34 is a Russian supersonic fighter-bomber, developed in the 1980s based on the Su-27 fighter. It is designed to strike ground and surface targets in all weather conditions and at any time of day. The main armament used by the Su-34 in Ukraine is aerial bombs.
Thanks to special modules, the Su-34 can drop bombs without entering the range of medium-range air defenses, allowing the aircraft to remain in a relatively safe zone. However, the skill of the Ukrainian defenders allowed them to shoot down Russian aircraft, including the Su-34, even at great distances from the front line.
As a reminder, Russian occupation forces carried out an airstrike on Zaporizhia on the night of September 23. Several explosions and fires were recorded in the city, and there was damage to private and industrial infrastructure. A man died under the rubble.
Earlier, OBOZ.UA reported that on the morning of September 22, explosions thundered in Zaporizhia: the regional center came under attack by Russian troops . Fires broke out at the sites of the hits, there is destruction. Four injured and three dead are known: the body of the third victim was found under the rubble of a completely destroyed house.
