Defense forces attacked an oil refinery in the Saratov region of the Russian Federation: details

The Russian occupiers use the facilities of this enterprise to provide their units with fuel and lubricants.

The Ukrainian Defense Forces have struck an important facility in the Saratov region of the Russian Federation. This is the Saratovorgsintez oil refinery , the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported.

“As part of reducing the enemy’s offensive capabilities, today units of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, in cooperation with other components of the Defense Forces, inflicted damage on the territory of the Saratovorgsintez JSC oil refinery in the Saratov region of the Russian Federation,” the report says.

It is noted that the Russian occupiers are using the facilities of this enterprise to provide their units fighting against Ukraine with fuel and lubricants.

According to the General Staff, a hit on the territory of the facility has been confirmed – technological installations have been damaged. A fire broke out at the facility. At the same time, the results of the damage are being clarified.

What is known about JSC “Saratovorgsintez”

“Saratovorgsintez” is a chemical industry enterprise.

The plant is a subsidiary of Russian giant Lukoil. It says it is Russia’s leading producer of acrylic acid nitrile, acetonitrile, and sodium cyanide.

It is worth noting that this is not the first attack on this enterprise. Drones visited there in January 2025. There were reports of damage to windows in one of the factory’s workshops.
