Modern tanks are expensive and powerful equipment on the battlefield. But are they still useful? Even the very word ‘tank’ makes infantry uncomfortable, and it is pure horror when a tank rides into the trench. See more in the new episode of War Is Algebra.

Afaics, modern tanks hadn’t had any showing on the battlefields in Ukraine yet (the lousy RuSSian T90s and T14, more hype than real breakthrough, don’t count). Because up-to-date tanks come with active protection systems against missiles and drones. That this technology can make a big difference has been proven by Israel’s very low tank casualty number in the Gaza war. Sadly, the AFU hasn’t got such systems yet. That needs to change.
