Danilov: Ukraine only needs weapons, but not everyone in the West wants our victory

According to the NSDC Secretary, in this case, the Ukrainians would be supplied with modern weapons more decisively.

Ukraine is entering the third year of full-scale war in a precarious position due to disputes over the extension of US aid and Western delays in supplying necessary weapons. To win on the battlefield, Ukrainian forces need only weapons.

Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Alexey Danilov said this in a comment to The Times . Russia has at least five times more shells than Ukraine along its entire front line. The shortage of weapons and ammunition is becoming increasingly threatening for the Defense Forces.

“There are three components that Ukraine needs – weapons, weapons and more weapons,” Danilov said.

Commenting on the allies’ failure to provide Kyiv with enough firepower to repel Putin’s forces, Danilov suggested that not everyone in the West wanted Ukraine to win the war.

“If they wanted this, they would supply us with modern weapons in a timely manner,” he said.

Danilov’s comment came shortly before the German parliament rejected a proposal to send powerful Taurus cruise missiles to Ukraine.

“In this war, I lost my nephew. Part of my godfather’s leg was torn off… But it’s not just me. There was so much grief. So many people lost their children, parents, wives or husbands. And the West turns a blind eye to this, it doesn’t want to respond to this adequately. In the end, they (Russians – UNIAN) do not kill you,” Danilov noted.

Ukraine needs help

Since October 2023, the US Congress has been unable to agree on further support for Ukraine in the amount of $60 billion. But so far this request has not been supported. After months of debate, the US Senate (Upper House of Congress) approved the bill , but the House of Representatives (Lower House of Congress) has yet to do so.

House Speaker Mike Johnson did not put the bill to a vote and announced a recess until the end of February.

In turn, US President Joe Biden expresses his readiness to hold a meeting with Speaker Johnson in order to move forward the consideration of assistance for Ukraine.

As you know, on February 17, Czech President Petr Pavel announced that he had found sources abroad for hundreds of thousands of artillery ammunition , which she could deliver to Ukraine in a matter of weeks if she secured funding. We are talking, in particular, about 800 thousand shells.

But the German Parliament rejected a resolution on the supply of Taurus missiles to Ukraine, proposed by the opposition, but approved the proposal of the ruling coalition on the supply of “long-range weapons.”

Exactly. Either Ukraine will get shitloads of ammo, helicopters and planes or Ukraine will have to surrender the occupied territories to survive. Stop bitching around, your bullshit costs lives!

That’s not the whole truth. Bundestag did pass a resolution for delivering long range weapons to Ukraine. Taurus is the longest range missile of the Bundeswehr. It will be difficult for the federal government to weasel around this. They would have to buy other missiles to fulfill that obligation. And where would they find those? In any way, Scholz and Pistorius will have to deliver some kind of long range weapon, and that’s a positive outlook.
