For the third week in a row, prices for greenhouse cucumbers have been decreasing in Ukraine, which is associated with a seasonal increase in the supply of current turnover vegetables from domestic producers, as well as low rates of product sales.
This is stated in a report by the EastFruit project, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
The report states that local wholesale companies and retail chains purchase cucumbers mainly for current sale, given the relatively short sales period for these products.
As of the end of the last working week, Ukrainian greenhouse plants offered available cucumber volumes at prices of UAH 40-70 per kilogram, which is an average of 22% lower than at the end of the previous working week.

Thus, last week, producers were forced to reduce selling prices again due to an increase in cucumber supply on the market against the background of restrained demand.
According to market participants, the establishment of warm weather in Ukraine significantly accelerated the ripening of cucumbers in local greenhouse farms.
In addition, additional pressure on the market is exerted by the increase in the supply of products from film greenhouses.
It is noted that greenhouse cucumbers in Ukraine are already offered for sale at almost the same prices as in the corresponding period last year.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the week before last, a decrease in prices for greenhouse cucumbers was recorded on the domestic market of Ukraine, which is associated with an increase in the volume of sampling in Ukrainian greenhouse plants, as well as low demand for greenhouse vegetables.

I have a lot of cucumbers when they are in season.
Some family members; mainly little ones, don’t like the skin. So we peel them, cut the skin into small pieces and feed them to the tadpoles now appearing in ponds and lakes everywhere.
They are fascinating creatures and ecologically very good : they eat algae, which keeps the water clean and clear.
Ukrainian pickled cucumbers are very nice. Also German ones. Very nice with beer.
True. 🥒🍻
Finally got my cucumbers planted here, still need to plant my zucchini.
