Already collected more than 750 signatures
On Friday, February 14, a petition appeared on the dismantling of the monument to General Nikolai Vatutin at the Mariinsky Park in Kyiv. The website of the Kyiv City Council reports this information.
“As of today, in the Mariinsky Park, which is located in front of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, there is still a monument to one of the invaders and Ukrainian haters – Nikolai Vatutin. Dozens of actions by various patriotic organizations have been held against this monument. Recently, unknown persons doused him with brilliant green,” – stated in the petition.
As of today, February 17, more than 750 signatures for dismantling have already been collected.
It is also noted that under the monument in the Mariinsky Park may be the grave of Nikolai Vatutin, so the dismantling should take place in a civilized manner, followed by reburial at one of the cemeteries in Kyiv.
As we reported before, the avenue in Kharkiv cannot be named after the Soviet Marshal Georgy Zhukov, since it falls under the law on decommunization. Anton Drobovych, director of the Ukrainian Institute of National Memory, said this.

This monument to a Russian terrorist should have been demolished long ago. Even his family don’t want him in Kyiv.
“In 2015, Vatutin’s daughter announced that her father had been buried in Kiev by Khrushchev against her family’s wishes, and that his surviving family (who live either in Russia or in the Czech Republic) will attempt to obtain permission to rebury him in Moscow. The primary reason was stated to be their dislike for the new Ukrainian government’s association with Stepan Bandera, whose followers had killed Vatutin.”
This guy was killed by Ukrainian insurgents in 1944. It is only right to remove his body along with the statue. Mafia land is a better place for communists.
Remove with a demolition ball would be preferable.
Or some dynamite to remove what is over and under the ground 🙂
It would seem to be a perfect solution then, to return his remains to the Family, perhaps they should also have the Statue.
