Construction is already nearing completion: Rutte announced the opening of the second Rheinmetall military plant in Ukraine

The German arms concern Rheinmetall will soon complete the second military enterprise in Ukraine. In general, the German giant intends to build four defense plants in Ukraine.

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte announced the opening of the second Rheinmetall plant in Ukraine. He said this at a joint press conference with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in Berlin.

“Rheinmetall has just opened the first plant in Ukraine. The construction of the second plant will be completed soon,” said the Secretary General of the North Atlantic Alliance.

At the same time, Rutte emphasized that the development of the defense industry is key to the security of Europe and the defense of Ukraine.

Therefore, the German industry is extremely important for NATO and Kyiv, noted the Secretary General of the Alliance. Rütte added that Rheinmetall has also seriously increased the production of ammunition since 2022.

It should be noted that the Rheinmetall AG concern is one of the largest manufacturers of military equipment and weapons in Europe. The company ranks 29th in the world by the volume of sales of military products.

Even last year, Rheinmetall established its first joint venture with a Ukrainian partner for maintenance and repair of tanks in Ukraine.

In February of this year, it was announced that a memorandum on the production of Rheinmetall ammunition in Ukraine was signed in Munich.

After that, the executive director of the concern, Armin Papperger, said that Rheinmetall plans to create at least four factories in Ukraine that will produce shells, military equipment, gunpowder and anti-aircraft weapons.

“Ukraine is now an important partner for us. Here we see a potential of 2-3 billion euros per year,” Papperger said.

And recently, an armored tank factory of Ukroboronprom Rheinmetall LLC was opened in the west of Ukraine. It has already started production of Lynx infantry fighting vehicles.

The first combat vehicle is planned to be released by the end of the year, and full-fledged local production will be organized “as soon as possible”, as confirmed by the German arms concern.

In addition, the Rheinmetall company received a contract for the construction of an ammunition production plant in Ukraine.

As OBOZ.UA reported, the Kremlin threatened that the military plant of the German concern Rheinmetall, which opened in Ukraine, could become a target for Russian strikes. The German concern stated that they are not afraid of threats from the Russian Federation, because its facilities in Ukraine are well protected.

  1. So much for mafia threats. The fascist rats in mafia land must realize that not everyone can be so easily scared like Scholz or Biden.
    Well done, Rheinmetall!
