​Commander of 7th Airborne Division Dead: Russian General Involved in Crimes in Ukraine Dies

Major General Alexander Kornev, who commanded the 7th Airborne Division of Russia, which took part in punitive actions against civilians in the Kherson and Zaporizhia regions, has died.

Russian sources reported the death of Major General Alexander Vladimirovich Kornev, who led the 7th Airborne Division of the Russian Federation.

The announcement of his death appeared on July 20 on the official page of the Ryazan Airborne Forces School on the Russian social network VKontakte, Dialog.UA reports .

“Today the entire large family of the Airborne Forces is grieving. Today the heart of Major General Alexander Vladimirovich Kornev stopped beating. He was the commander of the 7th Airborne Division. The kingdom of heaven, comrade Guards Major General! ” the publication says.

The cause of death is not specified. Preliminary, he said goodbye to life due to health problems. There is also unconfirmed information about a heart attack.

The 7th Guards Airborne Assault Division of the Russian Airborne Forces actively participated in the aggression against Ukraine, and was noted for its atrocities in the Kherson and Zaporizhia regions. It was in these areas that numerous cases of violence against civilians were recorded, including extrajudicial executions, kidnappings, torture, and shelling of residential infrastructure.

Ukrainian and international human rights organizations have repeatedly pointed out the involvement of Russian airborne units, including the 7th Division, in gross violations of international humanitarian law.

    Health problems usually occur after your head meets a sidewalk after falling out of a 9th floor window.

    • However he died, it was unlikely to be from natural causes (or from a real accident).

      • When you need a scapegoat for all your failures, you are not winning a war. Even Adolf didn’t execute his generals when all was lost.

        • And, making leaders fear for their lives for every small mistake only makes things even worse.
