An assault group of Colombian volunteers eliminated Russian forces in the inter-position sector of the front near Stepnohirsk in the Zaporizhzhia region.
Fighters from the Tactical Group Revanche of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine executed the operation.
Several Russian paratroopers had infiltrated the space between Ukrainian Defense Forces positions to direct fire and set up ambushes.
Ukrainian fighters, together with volunteers from the International Legion, planned an operation to eliminate the enemy and clear the positions.
The operation began with a series of precision strikes using FPV drones. Afterward, an assault team of Colombian volunteers from the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine was dispatched to the site.
Before launching the assault, Ukrainian troops called on the Russians to surrender. Receiving no response, the fighters fired grenades at the trenches and bunkers where the enemy was hiding.
During the battle, one Russian soldier was killed, and another was taken prisoner. The wounded prisoner was provided with necessary medical care and subsequently interrogated.
Stepnohirsk is a village destroyed by Russian shelling, located approximately 15–20 kilometers from the outskirts of Zaporizhzhia.
Control over it is of strategic importance, as losing it would allow Russian troops to move their artillery and drone operators closer to Zaporizhzhia and intensify attacks on the city and surrounding settlements.

Russian troops continue to attempt to infiltrate the settlement to establish a foothold, build up their forces, and create conditions for further advances toward Zaporizhzhia.
This May, the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine (DIU) had already published footage of the mop-up operation in part of Stepnohirsk.
The Cabinet of Ministers previously approved procedures for the logistics of foreign volunteers to join the ranks of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
