The investigative group Conflict Intelligence Team (CIT) reported that Russian paratroopers began to be transferred closer to the border of Ukraine.

On January 24, a video with military equipment that was transported by rail was published on tiktok . The video was allegedly filmed in the Bryansk region, which borders Belarus and Ukraine.

“In addition, the train includes five passenger cars, which allow transporting more than 250 people. We also counted eight shortened two-axle trucks KAMAZ-43501, which are typical for the Airborne Forces, on the platforms,” CIT reported.

According to the Russian Railways database cited by the investigative team, the train came from Tekstilny station in the Ivanovo region, near which the 217th Guards Parachute Regiment of the 98th Airborne Division is located. “This is the first confirmed video of paratroopers moving closer to the border with Ukraine,” the CIT added.

In January , a test of the reaction forces of the Union State began in Belarus. The Russian military will arrive in the country until February 9, and from February 10 to 20, the joint Russian-Belarusian exercises “Allied Resolve – 2022” will be held. The exercises involve almost all the Armed Forces of Belarus, as well as parts of the Eastern Military District, the Aerospace Forces and the Airborne Forces of Russia.

Since the fall of 2021, Russia has been building up a grouping of troops near the borders of Ukraine, which is why Western countries fear an invasion of Ukraine. The Russian authorities explain the movement of troops by exercises and assure that they are not going to attack anyone.
