Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi told European Union foreign policy chief Kai Kallas that Beijing cannot afford Russia’s defeat in Ukraine.
This was reported by the South China Morning Post , citing sources . The reason for this “position” is that China “is afraid that the United States will shift all its attention to Beijing.”
The publication notes that the Chinese Foreign Ministry regularly emphasizes that China is “not a party” to the Russian-Ukrainian war. And some EU officials were surprised by the minister’s frank statements.
At the same time, Wang Yi rejected accusations that China is providing material support to Russia – financial or military. Beijing insists that “the conflict would have ended long ago” if that were the case.
According to journalist sources, some EU officials believe that Wang Yi gave Kallas “a lesson in realpolitik, part of which focuses on Beijing’s belief that Washington will soon shift all its attention to the east.”
“One interpretation of Wang’s statement in Brussels is that, while China did not ask for the war, its continuation may serve Beijing’s strategic needs as long as the United States remains involved in Ukraine,” the authors add.

This is what I thought. China is enjoying themselves watching a war in Europe. Especially an extended war. They want us to use up our weapons so we won’t help Taiwan. Unfortunately, it appears the Pentagon is already focusing on China instead of helping Ukraine defeat the Filth on their land. I’m no General but I feel very deeply this is a huge mistake by Trump. If he would have done what he said on the campaign trail by “doing more for Ukraine than Biden has” this would have ended within the 100 days of him retaking office.
Reading between the lines, I can see another reason; they want mafia land’s forces reduced to ashes, so retaking parts of mafia land’s far east will be a piece of cake.
