The French president emphasized that the West has no “approach to regime change in Moscow.”

Following the negotiations with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Paris, French President Emmanuel Macron welcomed China’s commitment “to refrain from selling any weapons” to Russia, writes Le Monde .

Speaking about the “aggressive war that Russia is waging against Ukraine”, Emmanuel Macron said that he wants to “maintain a close dialogue” with China. According to him, Xi Jinping’s visit is an opportunity to make sure that Beijing does not provide explicit support to Russia’s military efforts.

At the same time, Macron emphasized that the West has no “approach to regime change in Moscow.”

The French president also welcomed Xi Jinping’s initiative to “ask all interested parties” in the various conflicts for an “Olympic truce” before the games, which begin on July 26.

    • Threaten to cut all trade with China would have a big impact on the Chinese behaviour.

      • Many things could and should be done to help the situation. But, we simply don’t have the right kind of leaders. You must give the rat credit for this; the timing for this war was great.

  1. Never trust China, there looking to be the next global leader by force. There constantly threatening and harassing the Taiwan Straight and today Australia Choppers. There tactics remind me of what the U.S. did to Japan before we dropped the bomb. Fly over Japan for several week and get the people used to it as if it poses no threat and then Wham! Unleash destruction.
