Children do not have the opportunity to call their parents.

The Russians do not let home children from the Kherson region, who were taken to the so-called “rest” and to camps on the territory of the Russian Federation.

This was announced by the deputy of the Kherson Regional Council Serhiy Khlan. 

“The Russians continue to violate international law: children who were taken from the occupied territories to the so-called “vacation” and camps are not allowed back. Moreover, they are not allowed to call their parents, they ask their relatives to send messages to other children. Those who have parents collaborators – and the attitude towards them, respectively, is different. It happened as everyone was afraid,” Hlan emphasized. 

According to the deputy, that is why people were warned not to send their children anywhere along with the occupiers. 

At the same time, the invaders continue to remove equipment from hospitals and convert them into military hospitals. In addition, reports continue to come in that apartments on the Left Bank of the Kherson region are being populated by Russian soldiers.

“If people left, it’s not so dangerous, but if they stay? They can be driven out into the street. Similar things are recorded in Genichesk, Kakhovka district, Oleshki, which for some reason illiterate Russians always call “Alyoshki,” Khlan added.

The situation in the Kherson region: what is known

The Ukrainian military continues to liberate the territory of the Kherson region from Russian invaders. More than 90 settlements have already been de-occupied in the Kherson region. 

Russian opposition politician Gennady Gudkov believes that Kherson could be released in the next two to three weeks. The de-occupation of the city will be a key turning point in the war unleashed by Russia against Ukraine.

At the same time, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that while the Russian invaders are not going to leave Kherson , although they staged an information operation about the alleged “flight” from the city. This was done in order for Ukraine to transfer troops there from other directions.
