The Chief Rabbi of Odessa and the South of Ukraine Avraham Wolf appealed to the Ukrainians with a request to remain calm and sane in difficult times for the country.

Wolf’s statement is addressed to all citizens, regardless of religion, political preferences or the side they take in the conflict.

The clergyman asks everyone who reads his appeal to do everything possible to prevent a big war and help their neighbors in emergency situations.

The rabbi has published a prayer that he asks to read for the preservation of peace and prosperity. Here is the text in full:

“Our G-d, the great, mighty and formidable G-d, I ask You: by Your great mercy, restore order to the universe – under the rule of just and righteous rulers who do not distinguish between races and nationalities.

I ask you, merciful God: strengthen our leaders in wisdom and bless their actions to save our country and our neighbors from war and destruction, God forbid.

And may all their deeds be for the good of mankind and for the good of our country.

And may the angels of blessing and good luck meet them, and may the confrontation and war stop in their and our lives and a just and blessed peace come. And let’s say “Amen”!
