In several Australian news outlets and the mass-circulation Daily Mail, there was a story on March 16 from Australia that stated that two existing drugs: ‘Chloroquine, an anti-malarial drug, and HIV-suppressing combination lopinavir/ritonavir have both reportedly shown promising results in human tests and made the virus ‘disappear’ in infected patients.’
SO: in light of the emergency, why are these existing drugs not being manufactured in colossal quantities and being made available? There is no time for ‘trials’. Patients and their families could sign a disclaimer prior to receiving the products that prevents them suing if something goes wrong. How about it?

Lot of panic buying in densely populated areas in the South East of England, but in particular London.
America is big enough to contain the virus in NYC and other cities, but I think it will die down over there fairly quickly.
Continental Europe though: that’s a different story.
