The Cheese Kingdom chain, which has 84 stores throughout Ukraine, has announced their closure. This is stated on the company’s website.
“Dear guests! We have served you for 13 years and shared the finest flavors with you. Unfortunately, we are forced to close our stores,” the statement reads.
The reasons for this decision have not been disclosed, but it is known that in June 2025, a russian drone struck the company’s headquarters in the capital, destroying servers and documentation. Additionally, Cheese Kingdom suffered enormous losses at its retail locations situated in frontline areas.
The country’s overall economic situation cannot be ignored: the devaluation of the hryvnia and inflation have significantly increased the cost of imported cheeses, while the decline in Ukrainians’ purchasing power is forcing them to opt for more affordable products instead of premium cheeses.
As a reminder, the day before, on October 15, the occupiers struck the Tavria-V supermarket in the village of Maiaky in the Odesa Region twice with drones. The store was almost completely destroyed by fire, and three people were injured, though most of the staff managed to take cover.
