Russia , having launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine on February 24, doomed itself not only to huge losses in manpower. Also, the aggressor country is rapidly losing weapons and military equipment. Because of this, shells for artillery and armored vehicles will run out in the Russian Federation by the end of this year.

It is reported by The Insider .

So, in the Russian Federation there were Soviet shells, which she still uses. However, such shells have a “shelf life”, the Russian army faced this problem back in 2002. Then the military felt a shortage of shells of the main calibers. VIDEO OF THE DAY:play video

“Of course, this does not mean that the entire Soviet artillery arsenal should be written off. For example, solid-propellant shells for multiple launch rocket systems are much less sensitive to long-term storage than shells for rifled artillery pieces, the bulk of which, at least, have long needed In addition, this arsenal was thoroughly eaten up not only by the two Chechen wars and the fleeting Georgian campaign, but also by the military campaign in Ukraine in 2014-2015 and, probably, even to a greater extent by the campaign in Syria.

The production of shells in the Russian Federation was small, they tried to speed up the process, but it cost a lot of money. However, due to the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the aggressor country spent almost everything it managed to accumulate. According to the publication, since February 24, the Russian Federation has spent at least 7 million shells, and this is without taking into account the ammunition that was destroyed as a result of attacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the warehouses of the occupiers.

“In other words, while maintaining the intensity of the war at the current level, Moscow will face a real shortage of shells by the end of 2022 and, in order to save money, will be forced to reduce the use of artillery,” the journalists noted.

In addition, in the Russian Federation there is another problem. It lies in the fact that the rifled artillery guns and tank guns of the occupiers are wearing out barrels.

“And even if we assume that Russian soldiers do not neglect the procedures for maintaining barrels and other gun mechanisms, and Russia has, albeit unknown, but by no means an infinite number of them in reserve (especially on guns from storage bases), by the end of 2022 wear artillery by itself will lead to a sharp decrease in its effectiveness. It turns out that the expected shortage of shells should coincide with the growing shortage of artillery pieces themselves,” the publication added.

The production of artillery and ammunition is in a deplorable state. Russian factories depend on components from other countries. As you know, the sanctions against the aggressor country deprived it of the opportunity to purchase such components, and the occupiers completely failed the so-called “import substitution”.

“Thus, being cut off from the supply of Western equipment, spare parts and materials and at the same time limited in terms of human capital and labor productivity, Russian artillery and ammunition manufacturers will inevitably face in the foreseeable future not so much stagnation as a reduction in production,” the publication added.

Also in the Russian Federation there are problems with high-precision weapons, aviation and armored vehicles. The invaders already have a shortage of long-range missiles, which the aggressor country is trying to mask by using long-range rocket artillery and using S-300/S-400 air defense/missile defense systems to strike ground targets.

As for tanks, by the end of 2022, most of all armored vehicles of the Russian Federation, if they are not destroyed, will have to go for repairs.

  1. It will be fun to watch their barrels exploding, they deserve it.
On another note there is a statement from the Mariupol mayor and he says the marauding monkeys from moscow have killed 87,000 innocent souls just in Mariupol. That does not include any of the hundreds of thousands kidnapped and sent off to Siberia by the Horde.

    • Mariupol is a city that’s been thoroughly raped, robed and abused … more than any other in Ukraine. It’s every bit as bad off as Grozny was or Aleppo.

  2. Nothing lasts forever. The mismanagement and corruption in mafia land had a detrimental affect, not only with its thousands of tanks in storage, but simply everything there is.
