Hungary promises to open the way for Ukraine to join the EU only after a number of demands are met.
As part of the agreement with the new Hungarian government, Ukraine will grant the Hungarian ethnic minority broad rights to use their native language in public, particularly in education. This was announced by Hungarian Foreign Minister Anita Orbán, as quoted by Telex .
Thus, according to the official, Kyiv and Budapest reached the following agreements:
- Ukraine will restore the school system for ethnic minorities, guaranteeing the free use of the Hungarian language and national symbols, including the Hungarian national anthem and flag.
- In municipalities where the proportion of Hungarians exceeds 10% of the population, the Hungarian language may be freely used in healthcare institutions, as well as during public events, particularly during election campaigns.
- Once these conditions are met, the process of Ukraine’s accession to the EU will begin, but not according to an accelerated schedule, but according to the standard schedule, which will additionally be preceded by a referendum.
“This achievement was not the result of ostentatious political gestures, but rather a Sisyphean effort, the result of numerous consultations and negotiations,” said Anita Orbán.

I DONT LIKE THIS AGREEMENT!
Quite honestly, I’m sick and tired of Hungary.
And the EU and NATO and of course Trump
And russia, china, and india.
There is a sizable German minority in northern Italy. They live quite peacefully there and much of the population speak German. They seem to get along well with the Italians in Northern Italy. Once a country is in the EU ,borders do not make as much difference.The German speaking folks in northern Italy move freely back and forth to Austria and Germany.
