The aggressor country Russia suffers much greater losses from Ukrainian 
strikes deep into Russia than from all the sanctions of Western countries combined. In general, Ukraine has unique military experience and therefore should become an integral part of the new world security system.

This was stated by the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov, at the XIV Civil Society Forum “(WE) STAND!”. The head of the GUR emphasized that such attacks on the Russian energy sector, unfortunately, cannot stop the war, but they significantly affect the financial capabilities of the Russian Federation.

What did Budanov say?

He called the drone attacks “Ukrainian sanctions” for the aggressor country.

“If we look at absolute numbers, these are terrible losses. And believe me, these losses from the so-called “Ukrainian sanctions” for Russia are much greater than the losses from all the sanctions imposed against it taken together,” said the head of the GUR.

Kirill Budanov added that such “Ukrainian sanctions” have already managed to stop approximately 20% of Russian oil refining, and this figure “can be increased to 30%.”

However, this, unfortunately, will not stop the war, because the Russians are ready to live in poverty, the head of Ukrainian intelligence believes.

“Russia is a country in which people will walk, gnaw bread, but everything that is needed will go to the army. We all need to realize this and honestly admit it,” he explained.

Ukrainian experience

Either way, the Ukrainian experience of conducting modern warfare, from the use of drones to cyber defense “is unique” says Kyrylo Budanov. The intelligence officer emphasizes that it is not without reason that today the experience of Ukrainian fighters is being studied by military theorists, inventors, and engineers from leading countries of the world. 

And it will become the foundation for the collective defense of Europe, adds the head of the GUR.

Strikes deep into Russia

Ukrainian forces continue to strike at Russian territory.  Drones and other means of destruction are targeting infrastructure in the Russian oil and defense-industrial base. A number of facilities in enemy territory are regularly subjected to repeated attacks.

So, on the night of December 6, Ukrainian troops again struck the Ryazan Oil Refinery. And this time, a target was hit and a low-temperature isomerization unit was damaged on the territory of the facility. 

As OBOZ.UA reported, on the night of December 5, explosions also occurred in the Temryutsky port in the Krasnodar Territory of the aggressor country Russia due to such “Ukrainian sanctions”. In addition, the facilities of the Syzran oil refinery in the Samara region were also hit.
