The head of the Main Intelligence Directorate, Kirill Budanov, stated that Ukrainian military intelligence has the ability to eavesdrop on conversations of high-ranking Kremlin officials.
This was reported by a correspondent of RBC-Ukraine .
During a conversation with an RBC-Ukraine correspondent, Budanov briefly confirmed the GUR’s capabilities.
“We can, yes. We get paid for it,” he said.
The comment came amid reports in a number of Western media outlets suggesting that Ukraine may have provided journalists with recordings of conversations between Putin advisor Yuri Ushakov and envoy Kirill Dmitriev.

Earlier, Kirill Budanov, head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense, stated that Russia hopes the threat of destroying Ukraine’s energy sector will force Ukraine to negotiate on Russia’s terms. However, this is a limited leverage factor, so Russia is rushing its “offers.”
