The UK will allocate almost 2 billion pounds to Ukraine for the implementation of joint projects, in addition to a loan for the development of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to an UNIAN correspondent, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said this during a joint briefing with British Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

“In addition to funds for the Ukrainian navy, the UK is allocating almost £2 billion more for the implementation of joint concrete and mutually beneficial projects with Ukraine in other areas, in particular, infrastructure and energy,” he said.

As UNIAN reported, on November 12, 2021, in London, Ukrainian Ambassador to the UK Vadym Prystaiko, on behalf of the Cabinet of Ministers, signed a Ukrainian-British framework agreement that provides for the allocation of funds for the construction of eight missile boats, the purchase of two minesweepers from the United Kingdom and the creation in our country of two military sea ​​bases.

We are talking about a loan in the amount of 1.7 billion pounds, which will be provided to Ukraine by the UK for 10 years.

And the head of the British Foreign Office, Liz Truss, on the eve of her visit to Ukraine, which was scheduled for February 1, received a positive test result for COVID-19 and  went into self-isolation.

During this visit, the British Foreign Ministers were supposed to announce the creation of a new format of cooperation between the UK, Poland and Ukraine. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba  revealed some details about the future alliance.
