The pilot took the fighter away from the city, but did not have time to eject.

That night, while repelling a massive Russian air attack,  1st Class Pilot Lieutenant Colonel Maksym Ustimenko crashed his F-16 fighter jet.

This was reported by the Air Force. “Unfortunately, we now have another painful loss. This night, while repelling a massive enemy air attack, 1st Class Pilot Lieutenant Colonel Maksym Ustimenko, born in 1993, died on an F-16 aircraft,” the report says.

The Air Force detailed that the pilot used the entire on-board weapons complex and shot down seven air targets.

“During the last exercise, his plane was damaged and began to lose altitude. Maksym Ustimenko did everything possible, took the plane away from the settlement, but did not have time to eject… He died like a Hero!”, the Air Force noted.
