  1. Yep, 34 felony counts and will be sentenced in July. Since Trump is a first time offender, ya right, he will most likely pay a fine or probation. Any other individual who commits 34 felonies would be in jail. This is a typical scenario, if you got money you can pay to stay out of jail.

    • If you think famous, wealthy people who are first-time offenders cannot be sentenced to prison for covering up a crime, Martha Stewart would like a word.

      • I doubt politics was what the jurors were thinking about when they found him guilty on ALL charges. Perhaps it’s time for you to see that Trump is just a damned crook, besides other negative things.

        • If you don’t see the politics then you’re much more naive than I thought. That’s ok though, that’s your right. Just don’t try to make me look like I don’t see both sides when it is you that is employing that fallacy.

          • A crook is a crook, and this guy certainly is a crook.
This has nothing to do with politics, this has to do with following our laws, which should be applicable for all citizens, even for ex-presidents.

          • “If you don’t see the politics”

Well, I don’t see any politics. If you do, why don’t you explain it to us rather than simply asserting it without evidence.

Since 2015 the DA’s office in Manhattan has charged 34 individuals with 166 counts of felony falsification of business records. Trump is hardly alone in breaking this law and being held to account for it. Indeed, policing the falsification of business records, in the city that is the financial capital of the world, is both imperative and commonplace.

The decision to bring charges rested entirely with the District Attorney’s office, and only after it had presented its evidence to a grand jury which returned a true bill of indictment. President Biden and the DNC had no involvement whatsoever.

The prosecution proved beyond a reasonable doubt that Trump instructed Michael Cohen to pay $130,000 to suppress the story that Trump had sex with Stormy Daniels.

The prosecution proved beyond a reasonable doubt that Trump did this in order to help his chances of getting elected.

The prosecution proved beyond a reasonable doubt that Trump disguised his repayment to Michael Cohen by falsely declaring them as “legal expenses”.

A jury of 12 citizens (who were found acceptable by Trump’s lawyers) unanimously declared that Trump was guilty of all charges.

Where do you see “politics” in all this?

          • “So Republicans were fine with Michael Cohen going to prison for his crimes, but it’s a political persecution when the guy who *directed* Michael Cohen gets convicted? Do I have that right?”

            — Brian Tyler Cohen

      • This is not politics.
We are talking about this U.S., not ruZZia.

The fact that the outcome doesn’t suit you doesn’t mean that the process was political, even though Fox News might tell you otherwise.

      • “somewhere that uses the US Constitution”

The US Constitution states: “In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the State and district wherein the crime shall have been committed, which district shall have been previously ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to have the Assistance of Counsel for his defence.”

trumpkov was tried by a jury of his peers and found guilty. This isn’t politics. Ample evidence was shown that:

        1. Michael Cohen paid Stormy Daniels “at the direction of” Donald Trump for the purpose of “influencing the election”.
        2. Trump repaid Cohen that money.
        3. Trump falsely claimed those payments as “legal expenses”.

Part of the evidence was Allen Weisselberg’s hand-written note showing that he doubled the $130,000 payment for reimbursement to Cohen (to account for the taxes that Michael Cohen would have to pay for the additional “income”).

If you don’t want to be tried by a New York jury do not commit 34 felonies in New York.

      • “The American principle that no one is above the law was reaffirmed. Donald Trump was given every opportunity to defend himself. It was a state case, not a federal case. And it was heard by a jury of 12 citizens, 12 Americans, 12 people like you. Like millions of Americans who served on juries, this jury is chosen the same way every jury in America is chosen. It was a process that Donald Trump’s attorney was part of. The jury heard five weeks of evidence…. After careful deliberation, the jury reached a unanimous verdict. They found Donald Trump guilty on all 34 felony counts. Now he’ll be given the opportunity as he should to appeal that decision just like everyone else has that opportunity. That’s how the American system of justice works. And it’s reckless, it’s dangerous, and it’s irresponsible for anyone to say this was rigged just because they don’t like the verdict. Our justice system has endured for nearly 250 years and it literally is the cornerstone of America…. The justice system should be respected, and we should never allow anyone to tear it down. It’s as simple as that. That’s America. That’s who we are. And that’s who we will always be, God willing.”

        — President Joe Biden
