President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a phone conversation with Dutch Prime Minister Rob Jetten, thanking him for the historic decision to host the fully fledged Special Tribunal for the Crime of Aggression against Ukraine.

According to Ukrinform, Zelensky announced this on Telegram, describing the conversation as highly substantive.

“I briefed the Prime Minister on the aftermath of Russia’s latest attacks. Today, the rubble clearance operation after the attack overnight into Thursday was completed in Kyiv. That terrorist strike alone claimed the lives of 30 people. My condolences to all the families and loved ones of the victims. It is important that our friends – Ukraine’s friends – are ready to take action to protect lives, and air defense remains one of the key areas of our cooperation with the Netherlands,” the President wrote.

Zelensky expressed his gratitude for the Netherlands’ historic decision to host the fully fledged Special Tribunal for the Crime of Aggression against Ukraine.

He said the Tribunal would make it possible to hold Russia’s top political and military leadership accountable specifically for the crime of aggression, rather than only for its consequences.

The two leaders also agreed on the schedule of their upcoming meetings.

“I thank the Netherlands for its solidarity and support,” Zelensky added.

As reported by Ukrinform, Ukraine has called on the parliaments of participating states to complete their domestic procedures and ratify the documents establishing the Special Tribunal for the Crime of Aggression against Ukraine without delay.
