Russian troops abandoned the offensive in the Sumy direction due to significant losses of personnel and equipment.

This was stated by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, Censor.NET reports with reference to the broadcast of Suspilny.

According to him, the Russian command planned an offensive in four directions at once – Sumy, Novopavlovsk, Pokrovsky, and Zaporizhia. 

“The Sumy operation failed, they suffered heavy losses, primarily personnel. Today they have abandoned this direction and transferred their resources and personnel to another direction. I believe that they suffered even more losses there, which we will say, I think, over the next two days ,” Zelenskyy noted.
