A shopping center caught fire, damaging dozens of homes.

Last night, Zaporizhzhia suffered one of the most massive attacks by the Russian army . This was announced by Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional State Administration .

“During the New Year holidays, the enemy continued to attack Zaporizhzhia and its suburbs. Last night, one of the most massive drone attacks took place… A significant portion of the enemy targets were destroyed before they reached the city. This is precisely what prevented any injuries among residents that night,” the official emphasized.

At the same time, according to him, the enemy managed to hit the city with drones nine times, hitting residential buildings, commercial facilities, and infrastructure.

Dozens of damaged homes and businesses have already been reported. Furthermore, the enemy attempted to strike the energy infrastructure last night, but as of this morning, all subscribers in the region still have power.

According to the head of the Special Operations Agency, 30 people injured during previous massive attacks are currently in Zaporizhzhia hospitals.

According to the State Emergency Service , Russian troops attacked Zaporizhia twice with attack drones overnight. The first wave occurred late in the evening on January 1. Three fires broke out: a non-residential extension to a multi-story building and two outbuildings. Debris also damaged residential buildings, road surfaces, and cars.

The second attack occurred around 2:00 a.m. Friday, setting a shopping center ablaze. Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire, and the State Emergency Service bomb disposal team searched the area for dangerous drone debris. All emergency services were on scene.

Three people were injured: a 46-year-old man and two women, aged 75 and 35.

Aerial bombs damaged more than ten apartment buildings, shattering windows and damaging balconies. Garages and parked cars caught fire as a result of the strikes, and an educational institution and public transportation were damaged.

On Christmas Day, Russians also attacked the Zaporizhzhia region, injuring four people. Among them were three women – aged 80, 65, and 57.
