The Zaporizhstal metallurgical plant was subjected to a massive combined strike that Russia inflicted on Zaporizhzhia on the night of August 11 — its work was completely stopped.

This is stated in a statement by Metinvest,  Censor.NET reports .

What is known about the impact?

The ballistic attack killed seven Zaporizhstal employees and injured 21 others. It is reported that the Russian strike caught the workers on their way to shelter immediately after the alarm was raised.

The company assured that it is providing the injured with the necessary support and is in contact with the families of the deceased and injured.

As a result of the Russian attack, the energy units and infrastructure of Zaporizhzhia enterprises of Metinvest, as well as the main and auxiliary capacities of coke and blast furnace production facilities, were damaged.

Currently, the work of the metallurgical plant has been completely stopped, other production sites are operating at reduced capacity. Specialists are assessing the consequences of the attack, carrying out the necessary emergency repair work, and estimating the recovery time.

What preceded it?

• It was previously reported that six people were killed and dozens injured in a Russian strike on Zaporizhia .
• Later it became known that the state enterprise “Zaporizhstandartmetrologiya” and business facilities were destroyed .
