According to him, Venezuela has taken away American oil rights.
The United States of America wants to return the rights to oil in Venezuela . This statement was made by US President Donald Trump during a conversation with journalists.
“Venezuela took our oil rights – we want it all back. Everything we had – they took it away because we had a president who maybe didn’t keep an eye on it. But they won’t do that. We want it back. They took our oil rights away. We had a lot of oil there. They threw our companies out. And we want it back,” the US president said.
Notably, according to POLITICO , the Trump administration has privately asked American oil companies whether they would return to Venezuela after Maduro leaves power, but so far none have expressed interest in working there.
Low oil prices, political risks and Venezuela’s deteriorating infrastructure are deterring investment, despite the White House’s hopes for a post-Maduro future.
