Prime Ministerial candidate from the Serbian Progressive Party and former President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić announced the defeat of his political force in the early parliamentary elections.
This was reported by the Serbian service of Radio Liberty, Censor.NET reports.
Defeat of Vučić’s party
“Based on the sample, it is clearly visible that we lost these elections, the Student List won – it will have from 135 to 140 mandates, while we have about 105 mandates,” Vucic said.
“About 1,720,000 votes were cast for us, and approximately 2,200,000 for them,” he added.
Vucic noted that other forces, with the exception of national minority parties, did not overcome the electoral barrier.
- It is noted that the Serbian Progressive Party has been in power since 2012.
