According to him, the pressure on Russia must be intensified so that it chooses the diplomatic path to ending the war.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed that Russia is no longer as strong as it seemed before. The planned parade in Moscow on May 9 is not expected to feature heavy equipment and there is a threat of drones. The head of state said this during his speech at the opening of the 8th summit of the European Political Community in Yerevan.

Sanctions against Russia must be strengthened 

“Russia has announced a parade until May 9, but there will be no military equipment at this parade. This will be the first time, if this is true, in many years that they cannot afford the presence of weapons at the parade. And Ukrainian drones may also fly at this parade. This shows that they are no longer as strong as before,” Zelensky stressed.

At the same time, as the President of Ukraine emphasized, Russia must continue to be pressured, including through sanctions. The Head of State is grateful to the European Union for introducing the 20th package of restrictive measures against Russia, but restrictions on Russian oil, banks, etc. must be strengthened. 

The president believes that the idea of ​​lifting sanctions is unacceptable.
