The Patriot air defense systems that Donald Trump promised to transfer to Ukraine will not arrive before the spring of 2026.

Spiegel notes that according to US President Donald Trump’s plan, countries that have such weapons are ready to give them up now, and other states will pay for them.

The Trump administration believes that European allies should give up the systems from their military stockpiles and then receive replacements. The American company RTX Corporation will move them forward in the supply queue.

The publication’s sources said that Germany will be able to receive the Patriot battery no earlier than in eight months. Only after that will Ukraine be able to receive the air defense system.

Earlier, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius said that  Germany would deliver two Patriots to Ukraine if the US guaranteed their replacement within 8 months.
