US Vice President J.D. Vance said that Russia’s war against Ukraine continues due to the reluctance of both countries to conclude a peace agreement.
He said this on Newsmax, Censor.NET reports .
According to Vance, the “energetic diplomacy of US President” Donald Trump can help bring Ukraine and Russia closer to the conclusion of a peace agreement, but this requires the desire of both sides.
“And now, despite all our work, and we will continue to work on it, the Russians and the Ukrainians are simply not ready to make a deal,” he said.
The American official added that a peaceful settlement between Ukraine and Russia is still possible, but “a lot more work” is needed.
