According to Magyar, if Kyiv fulfills its obligations, Hungary will support the opening of the first negotiation cluster on Ukraine’s accession to the EU.
Hungarian Prime Minister Peter Magyar said that Kyiv and Budapest have reached a “comprehensive agreement” regarding the Hungarian national minority in Ukraine. He announced this on his Facebook page .

“We have reached a comprehensive agreement with Ukraine to expand the linguistic, educational, cultural and political rights of the 100,000-strong Hungarian minority,” said Magyar.
The Hungarian Prime Minister noted that this agreement was the result of several weeks of intensive negotiations at the expert level between the Hungarian and Ukrainian sides. He added that political organizations of the Hungarian community in Transcarpathia and churches also participated in the negotiations.
“I am very pleased that one day before National Unity Day, I can announce that the Ukrainian government has committed to incorporating the agreed measures into its legislation in the near future, thereby granting our compatriots in Transcarpathia much broader educational, cultural, linguistic and political rights than those they have had so far,” Madyar emphasized.
According to the Hungarian Prime Minister, if Kyiv fulfills its obligations, the Hungarian government will support the opening of the first negotiation cluster on Ukraine’s accession to the European Union.
