The leader of the Batkivshchyna party, Yulia Tymoshenko, was arrested in absentia in Russia in the case of “fakes about the Russian army” and put on the international wanted list.

According to the publication, Tymoshenko’s arrest in absentia was ordered back in December 2025. A criminal case was opened under the article “spreading false information” regarding the Russian army .

The Prosecutor General’s Office of the aggressor country accuses the Ukrainian politician of postings on social networks about the killings of civilians in Irpen and Bucha. The Russian side traditionally denies committing war crimes on the territory of Ukraine.

The criminal case against Tymoshenko has been transferred to the Basmanny Court of Moscow. The date of the court hearing is currently unknown, and according to Russian sources, there is no relevant information on the websites of Moscow courts.
