Leo XIV latest statements from the USA regarding Europe.

Pope Leo XIV commented on US President Donald Trump’s recent comments, in which he claimed Europe is in decline and its leaders are “weak.” When asked by a journalist whether he considered the American peace plan for Ukraine fair, the pontiff replied that he “would prefer not to comment on that,” Sky News reports .
But then he added: “I think, unfortunately, some of the things I’ve seen represent a huge change in what has been, for many, many years, a real alliance between Europe and the United States.” He said the comments made about Europe in recent interviews are aimed at destroying what “must remain a very important alliance” today and in the future.
He then went on to directly mention the US President: “So this is an agenda that President Trump and his advisers have developed. He is the President of the United States, and he has the right to do this. But there are a number of things in it that I think maybe a lot of people in the US will like, but a lot of other people will see them very differently.”

I like this pope. He is much better than his predecessor.
