The plan so far resembles a poorly formulated wish list written by a legally illiterate person.

The “peace plan” promoted by the Donald Trump administration is bad for Ukraine, Europe, and the United States itself. The fact that it’s too favorable to Russia is only half the problem. It’s also extremely ambiguous and practically impossible to implement properly, according to an editorial in The Economist .
Legal insolvency
“It’s hard to know whether to laugh or panic. The 28-point peace plan America is promoting as a basis for ending the war in Ukraine is so poorly drafted, so vague, unbalanced, and impractical that in a more normal world it would never have seen the light of day,” the publication states.
Journalists cite one of the most absurd points of the plan. It states that Ukraine will be punished if it launches a missile at Moscow or St. Petersburg. This means that, theoretically, there is no prohibition on strikes against Belgorod or Voronezh. The punishment for Russia for similar strikes against Ukraine is not specified at all.
But even if we don’t quibble over the letter of the document, which will obviously still be revised and formulated more adequately, some of its points are questionable in their very conception.
Reward for aggression
Thus, The Economist considers it an extremely bad idea to hand over the rest of Donbass to Russia, limit the Ukrainian army, and lift sanctions against Russia based on Moscow’s word of honor that it will not attack anyone again.
“These details foreshadow an extremely precarious future for Ukraine. Mr. Putin is a consistent violator of international agreements,” the journalists write.
The authors of the publication also dislike the part of the “peace plan” that proposes economic cooperation with the United States for Russia after the end of the war.
“The plan generously rewards Mr. Putin’s aggression. It gives him an incentive to strike Ukraine again, and it gives the Russian president the money and time to rebuild the military he needs to realize his long-term goal of threatening and coercing countries along Russia’s border, from the Arctic to the Black Sea,” the publication says.
Destroying trust in the United States
Journalists consider the fact that the US worked with Russia and did not consult with Europe, let alone Ukraine, when developing the “peace plan” to be further evidence of Trump’s disdain for the US’s European allies.
“This is bad for America. Japan and South Korea will take notice. China, which is eyeing Taiwan, will too,” the journalists note.
Although the “peace plan” contains a promise of a “coordinated military response” from the United States in the event of a new Russian invasion of Ukraine, this provision is entirely dependent on the “whim of Mr. Trump,” as the US Congress is unlikely to support such a commitment. Meanwhile, Trump himself “is not acting as if America is an ally of Ukraine,” the journalists note.
The authors of the publication believe that Ukraine’s best response to this de facto ultimatum should be gratitude to Trump for his wise efforts and an offer to begin discussing the details. Ultimately, these negotiations will reach a dead end, and Trump will lose interest.
“The current American plan is dangerous not only for Ukraine but also for Europe; therefore, its leaders must now move from outrage to action. They have already wasted too much time on wishful thinking,” the journalists added.

Witkov? Vance? Rubio? Trump?
Dmitriev.
The good news is a discharge petition has been started by a bi-partisan group of politicians to apply crushing sanctions on mafia land. I expect it to achieve the 218 signatures quite easily. This will give TACO a huge headache, and one he can’t ignore.
